Postcard Project Update - Saturday, February 11, 2006

Saturday Morning Update
Mary Ann received a couple of more items today. The other people in Mom's household are continuing to feed the paranoia. I wish they would quit, so maybe Mom could enjoy this a little. Anyway, my favorite card so far, was addressed to the cats from someone else's cats. The card went on about the birds at the bird feeder and how they were driving the cat wild! So cute! I'm sure I'll be able to get pictures of the newest cards today, so I will send them to Will by Sunday.
Thanks to everyone who is sending stuff to Mom, I think that she may actually be mellowing about it a little.

Keep 'em coming!
Thanks,

Missouri Mom Update
Well folks, she continues to be freaked out. I do my best to bring out the fun of it, but she isn't buying into it yet. Hopefully she will soon. She has only received 2 more items (not counting the three that I've sent). No onslaught by any means. She did receive the lyrics and so I was quizzed for several minutes about when the song was popular and who sings it and why are they called the Bare Naked Ladies . . . I'm having fun anyway :)

I'll keep you posted,

Mary Ann : Day two
Two more items in the mail today. A bunny postcard and a postcard with a persons foot and shoe. Both were very nicely worded, miss you, have fun, etc, but Mary Ann is still freaked out. The other people in her house aren't helping matters at all! They are feeding the paranoia. I hope she starts enjoying this soon, I wanted her to laugh, not freak out! I sent pictures of the first three items to Will for the gallery, so keep looking.

Postcard Project Update - Monday, February 06, 2006

Looking for a little writing help here...

I'm looking to build this site up a little, get more one-way backlinks, get more Google/Yahoo! traffic, etc.

In order to do this easily, I'm looking for one or two people who'd like to write an article that indirectly references PCFM. While the article itself should not include references to the site, the subject and body of the article should.

Possible Titles Include:
How to Use Postcards as Great Ways to Cheer Up Geezers
How A Simple Letter Can Make Someone's Day
Writing to a Stranger
Giving Back with Your Pen
Use Postcards for Your Next Prank

...hopefully you get the idea.

All articles should be submitted to me (will@postcardsformom.com) and should be 400-500 words in length. They will become my property with no implied rights. I will submit these articles to various directories as the owner and author for purposes of increasing this website's popularity.

If you are a good writer, and want to help me out, feel free to submit an article or five.

Thanks for continuing to support The Postcard Project!

HEADLINE: Missouri Mom Reports Being "Creeped Out"!

Hello all,
Mary Ann received her first letter today. It was from Sara in Morris, Illinois. I thought it was a lovely letter, very sweet and well written. However, Mom said " I am so creeped out right now! Have you ever heard me talk about a Sara?" I was mean and said, "No, not really, but I only listen to about half of what people say" , she was not amused. The letter mentioned hearing a song and thinking of old times from so long ago. She is really puzzled about this. She actually ended the call with this, "Well, maybe something will follow this letter that explains the whole thing". It took me a few seconds to answer (because I was trying not to let her hear me laughing). I just mumbled an "Uh-huh, maybe" and continued on with how nice the letter sounded and I wouldn't be worried at all, let's wait and see what tomorrow brings. I felt a little bad, but I hope something else nice comes tomorrow to take away a little of the creepiness she's feeling. Good job Sara,
Thanks!
