Postcard Project Update - Friday, April 22, 2005

Today a man named John requested Sally's address. John is apparently from Miramar, Welilngton - wherever that is. What interested me about John's request is that when asked how he heard about the site, he said that he saw it in a book. What book?

Postcard Project Update - Wednesday, April 20, 2005

Mom didn't get any letters today or yesterday. She did, however, get some books in the mail today. And a TON of mail on Monday. I love how some of you are pointing out the purple - there was a cat on some stationary and the author wrote on it "Love the purple" on the bow the kitty was wearing. There's been a couple of mentions of me("How's our favorite newlywed doing?!" and some of Jay's new job and Matthew's illness. Dad says mom keeps saying to him "Someone is updating these people!".
As far as the letters some of you are getting, with mom saying you have the wrong person...if you want to keep it fun, you could still write back and say she seems interesting, you're sorry you originally got the wrong Sally, but would she mind if you kept writing to her? I know she's sent out a ton of letters to people, and she's figuring she won't hear back from a lot of you because you've gotten the wrong Sally. I think she enoys writing to you and waiting to see if you'll write back. That's why I think it's better to just mention things you know she likes - though the bathrobe thing continues to be the funniest.
She's still getting the purple fabric. Doesn't have enough yet for a quilt but she is mentioning pillows.
There is bad news on her ankle - it hasn't healed properly. She's very upset about it - she may just be able to get a plaster cast on it and that may fix it, but it's been 3 months and there's no healing, and there's a bone chip. So she's probably going to need surgery to have a couple of pins put in her ankle, and she's not happy about that. Plus, with Mothers Day coming up, she's really missing her mom a lot. Maybe send "Get better soon" cards for her ankle? Send things that will cheer her up. It's kinda a down time for us in the Sally household... :(
