Postcard Project Update - Friday, May 28, 2004
We have a winner! Her name is Wendy, and she's going to prank her Mom, Betty Anne. More info to come soon.
I'll start modifying the site next week and Wendy is going to work on getting the PO Box.
We raised just over $85 for The Alternative House, which I will be mailing early next week. Very cool, thanks Wendy!
Now, get out your pens and start collecting postcards!
You can listen to Mom and I on WIOG in Michigan yesterday. It's a large file (6Mb+) so for those of you on dial-up, forget it.
Postcard Project Update - Thursday, May 27, 2004
To all my new found friends,
I just wanted to take a few minutes of your time (since you all seem to have too much of) to let you know how much fun this has been. I have been bewildered, confused and extremely amused for the last 6 mo. I walk around smiling a lot. The mail idea was wonderful and word does not express how much I have enjoyed it. Thanks to each and every one of you for taking the time out of your busy lives to make so many life time memories for me. I still have each piece that was mailed to me (except those stolen by the inventor of this prank). I’m looking forward to the coming months and plan to get on the bandwagon with the next mom.
As for Will and Kevin and other family members... we’ll not go into that right now but I’ll just say, "the pictures are off the wall".
Postcard Project Update - Wednesday, May 26, 2004
Only one day left to bid. Get in on the prank, watch the fun as the mail starts coming, and help a charity all at the same time.

Postcard Project Update - Monday, May 24, 2004
If you're bored and just itchin' to send something, don't forget Mom's birthday is Thursday. Kevin and I will both be in town this weekend and we'd love to see a BUNCH of birthday wishes for the old lady.
Lost her address? Just Email me
For those of you who are wondering what has happened over the last month, here's a quick review...
The St. Louis Post Dispatch caught wind of the Project just before Mother's Day. They interviewed me and Mom. Mom didn't know why she was being interviewed. But she knew to watch the newspaper over the next week.
On Mother's Day, the article was printed.
It was pretty hard to hide from her.
The following Wednesday, the Post did a follow-up article after she found out.
We were also on various radio stations over the last few weeks, totalling around 50. It has been a total blast, and now that it's over, we are looking for another Mom to prank.
I will be seeing my Mom next week, and I'm going to swipe a bunch of the stuff that she received and I'll start posting it to the site.
Sent out a special message today. For those that did not see it, here ya go:
I apologize for sending out this special message after promising only one a month.
We've had quite a month, and a lot of changes.
Mom found out.
So, we are in need of another Mom, and that's why I'm writing. We could be sending lots of useless stuff to your Mom next!
And as usual, there's a twist. I've posted an eBay auction to select the next Mom. Seventy percent of the auction proceeds go to a charity that you, the readers, selected. For all the information, check out the site (www.postcardsformom.com/blog)
Most importantly, if you want to get a chance at sending all the stuff to your Mom next, you need to see the auction. You can do so at
The auction only has a few days left. Remember, 70% of it goes to charity, so get bidding!
Want your Mom (or wife, or sister, or friend) to get a bunch of stuff?
Business owners: How about a prank on your secretary? It'd be a blast!
Bid now, as time is short.
Take care, and the winner will be announced on June first, and you can start sending again!
Lastly, for information and news on my Mom finding out, check out the site and read through this month's archives. Lots of neat stuff happened!
Lets bid on this. You all wanted to prank your own moms, now's your chance! Pay her back for all the stuff she wouldn't let you do when you were a kid. You know, like jumping off the garage roof with a cape and an umbrella so you could be like SuperDoof, what a bummer. The time she stopped you from leaping the storm drain with a home made ramp and your new BMX bike like Evil Kinucklehead, that really bites. And you ladies, she wouldn't let you out of the house just because you were dressed like a bimbo. What a drag. Wouldn't let you wear a bra until you had something to put in it! oh the injustice.
All she did was spend the first eighteen years of your life making you do awful stuff like eating your veggies, not running with scissors, doing your homework, and worst of all being polite. I tell you it's time for payback!!!Just think you could of been an out of control barbarian now(or dead) if wasn't for MOM........
She deserves this. So bid! Let her know all her good deeds will not go unpunished!!!!
Jim, Mom's husband who had to tote all that mail into the house and listen to incessant giggling.
