Postcard Project Update - Wednesday, January 14, 2004

Just talked to Mom on the phone. She got back from Texas last night at 1:30AM. After the initial hellos, here's what happened:

Mom: Not that you know anything about it, but whoever is sending me stuff is probably really pissing off the post office.
Me: Umm, ok, why? (I sound so innocent!)
Mom: Apparently people are now sending me bottlecaps, but I'm not getting them. I guess the machines at the post office are tearing the envelopes. I keep getting empty envelopes with holes in them.
Me: Oh wow, how weird!
Mom: Yeah. I've got 2 bottlecaps here that made it through, but most of the envelopes that are coming are empty. So, whoever is responsible for this needs to be told that they need to package them better. The two that made it through were nicely taped up.
Me: Ok, well I'll email Kevin. (perfect place to interject that name... heh)
Mom: I've also got a few postcards and even a real long letter. I'll show it to you when you come up
Me: A letter?! This is so weird mom!

This is a blast.

As for you people out there who have yet to mail mom something, try to tape it up a little. I have a feeling this will just go down as a lesson learned. I don't want to make anyone spend money on fancy envelopes, etc. The idea of the project is something that costs 37 cents or less.

Thanks to all have sent mom stuff so far. Next month will be much easier.
